A Kimpact online exclusive: Eddie Guerrero Memorial

TNA is honored to remember one of Pro Wrestling's greatest entertainers, Eddie Guerrero. He passed away November 2005. Two of Eddie's best friends have asked to honor the memory of Latino Heat. Konnan trained with Eddie Guerrero in Mexico. Rey Misterio and Eddie traveled, fought and wrestled together all over the world. Rey is not under contract with TNA. He is making a one time only appearance for this match. Rey and Konnan arrive to Eddie's theme music and in Eddie's lowrider! Rey takes the mic.

"I had the honor to wrestle Eddie from WrestleMania to SummerSlam. Eddie was a teacher and a true friend. I will miss you, Papi."

Rey passes the mic to Konnan.

"Viva la Raza! Eddie meant a lot to all wrestling fans. He could always steal the show. He always cheated the rules. And I would be lying if I said he didn't have a passion for this business. Long live Eddie."

The crowd erupts with chants of "Eddie! Eddie!" The bell rings and we are under way.

Rey Misterio vs. Konnan

Konnan and Rey start the match with a handshake and an embrace. They tie up. Rey pushes Konnan off the ropes, Rey leapfrogs Konnan, Konnan rebounds, Rey snaps off a huracanrana. Rey attempts a tornado DDT. Konnan blocks it, leg sweeps Rey, drops an elbow. Pin attempt. Only a one count. Konnan with a leg lock on Rey. Rey on one foot, he flips out of the hold. Konnan quickly with a drop toe hold. Konnan goes back to the leg lock. Rey wraps Konnan up with a cradle. He gets a two count. Rey with a sunset flip. Another two count. Konnan catches Rey with a backslide. 2 count. Rey with a small package. Konnan kicks out. Konnan with a German suplex with a bridge. Rey kicks out. Rey hops on Konnan's shoulders and spins around with a huracanrana. Hooks Konnan's legs for a pin. Konnan kicks out. Rey walks into a facejam. Konnan tries to whip Rey into the corner, Rey reverses. Konnan bounces off the turnbuckles, Rey tries for another huracanrana, Konnan turns it into a huge powerbomb with a pin cover. Rey manages to kick out. Konnan Irish whips Rey. Konnan is going for his rolling clothesline. Rey tumble rolls right over Konnan! Rey with an Eddie-like dropkick. Rey dashes toward Konnan and Konnan sidesteps Rey who leaps on the top rope and moonsaults on Konnan. 2 count. Rey with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Konnan goes for a back suplex on Rey who lands on his feet. Rey tries for a front dropkick, Konnan counters with Tequila Sunrise. Rey struggles. He is in intense pain. But he doesn't tap. After minutes of torture Rey reaches the ropes. Rey gets to this feet and Konnan gets in a boot to Rey's midsection. Konnan hits Rey with Three Amigos suplexes. One of Eddie's favorite moves. The crowd goes wild. Another "Eddie! Eddie!" chant breaks out. Konnan with a huge tornado DDT. Rey climbs to the top turnbuckle. He points to the heavens and lands a frogsplash! The crowd erupts! Pin on Konnan. 1.. 2.. Konnan barely kicks out. Rey drop toeholds Konnan on the second rope. Rey dials 619. Rey springboards off the ropes for the West Coast Pop. Konnan catches Rey and powerbombs him down. He still has Rey by the feet. Konnan locks in the Lasso from El Paso. Konnan pulls back. Rey tries to reach the ropes. He can not make it. Rey taps. Konnan has won. He helps Rey to his feet. They hug. Rey grabs the mic.

"This mask I am wearing I wore during my series with Eddie. He liked the white and yellow color pattern. It was his favorite of all my masks."

Rey leaves the ring. He reaches in the front seat of the lower rider. He pulls out an Eddie Guerrero t shirt. Rey rolls back into the ring. He lays the t shirt down in the ring. Rey slowly pulls his mask off. He places it on the Eddie shirt. This is a huge sign of respect. The wrestling masks are highly honored in Mexico. Konnan pulls off his cross necklace and also lays it on the shirt. Konnan and Rey leave to Eddie's music as we fade out.
